Minor Surgical Skills in practice

RCS Edinburgh Accreditation for Minor Surgical Skills in Practice
"...this is a well designed, evidence based and highly relevant skills course..."

"...clear objectives and aims of giving hands on training for clinicians who have limited time for training..."

Minor surgery is a skill, and like any skill, it's best learned from people who truly know their craft.

Our course brings together experienced, accredited clinicians with a genuine passion for teaching, giving you a day that's as enjoyable as it is educational. From setting up your first minor surgery clinic to mastering practical techniques in our hands-on sessions, every part of the day is designed with one goal in mind: building your confidence to go back into practice and deliver outstanding care.

You'll leave with real skills, evidence-based knowledge, and a comprehensive resource pack to support you long after the day is done.

Dr Simon Hutchinson

MBChB BDS MFDS MRCGP

Simon's route into general practice is anything but conventional — and that's what makes him such a valuable voice in minor surgery education.

Before training as a doctor, Simon qualified as a dentist, gaining hands-on experience in head and neck surgery that gave him a solid grounding in anatomy and procedural technique from the very start of his career. That surgical confidence has stayed with him, and minor surgery remains a regular and valued part of his work as a GP Partner in South Tyneside.

Away from his clinical work, Simon is a GP trainer who genuinely enjoys helping others develop — and he holds a Certificate in Education to back that up. He's the kind of teacher who draws on real experience rather than theory alone, and brings plenty of both to his courses.

If you're looking to build your skills and confidence in minor surgery, you're in good hands.
